Privacy
Short version: you can use Cancel Plus without giving us anything. We never see your streaming accounts, and we never sell data.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you, unless you give us your email. Browsing the catalogue and cancelling titles requires no account.
- Your choices stay on your device. The titles you cancel, the rules you set and the services you select are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to us unless you create an account.
- An anonymous ID. A random identifier generated in your browser. It is not derived from you, your device or your network, and it cannot be linked back to a person. We use it to tell whether the product gets used more than once.
- Product events. Which actions happened — a page view, a cancel, a click through to a streaming service — with that anonymous ID and a timestamp.
- Your email address, only if you submit it. Used to send you a sign-in link so your list survives a change of browser or device. Nothing else.
What we do not collect
- No streaming credentials or session tokens — ever. There is no code in this product capable of accepting them.
- No passwords. Sign-in is a link sent to your email.
- No payment details. We do not take payments.
- No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no data sold or shared for marketing.
Cancels are private
What you cancel is yours. We do not publish cancel counts, leaderboards, or any public list of titles or people. Your choices are never shown to another user.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel — hosts the site and serves it to your browser.
- Supabase — the database holding product events and, if you create one, your account.
- Resend — delivers sign-in emails.
- Movie of the Night — supplies the streaming catalogue. They receive no information about you; we fetch the catalogue ourselves, in advance.
How long we keep it
Product events are kept while we are measuring whether this product is worth continuing, and are deleted when that is decided. Your email is kept until you ask us to delete it. Deleting your account deletes both.
Your choices
- Delete everything on your device — clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Nothing of yours remains.
- Ask us to delete your account and email — write to the address below and we will, without asking why.
- Ask what we hold about you — same address; we will send it.
Children
Cancel Plus is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
